U.S. Mustang Fans Win Big Over European Buyers

It appears that our friends overseas don’t always get the coolest vehicles in a carmaker’s lineup.

Sure, we often find ourselves envying some of the cars limited to places like Europe, be it some sportier variant or an alternative fuel model that’s restricted here in the States. But in the case of the S550 Mustang, it appears that fans of the car here in the U.S. got the better end of the deal, according to Jalopnik.

In a recent report, Jalopnik cites about eight ways that the Mustang made for the U.S. market tops the European-spec model. For example, the Mustang offered to customers here in the States features hood vents, a design element that is banned in Europe because of pedestrian safety regulations.

The U.S.-sold V8 Mustang is also more powerful than the V8 models made in Europe, due to some engineering dynamics that come from making the right-hand variants. Not to mention the fact that the Shelby GT350 model isn’t even available in Europe.

But one of the biggest upsides for Mustang fans in the U.S. is the fact that a base V8 costs $47,000 in England, which is about $14,000 more than a base V8 model in the U.S.

Check out other ways U.S Mustang fans wins out over their European counterparts, as detailed in the video below. Then let us know what you think.
