2018 Ford Mustang’s Pulsating Push Button Starter

By -

New model features pulsating push button starter that lights up at the same speed as a horse’s heartbeat.

Details, details, details. They’re the things that separate something from the rest of the crowd, right?

Ford certainly thinks so. Because with all the enhancements they’ve made to the Mustang over the years, the Detroit carmaker continues to find more ways to distinguish it from everything else in the segment.

One of the latest examples can be found in the interior of the 2018 Mustang. More specifically, in the new model’s push button start feature. Sure, the idea of a push button starter isn’t groundbreaking. But a pony car that pulsates at the same speed as the animal after which it’s named certainly is. Check it out in the video posted above.

Yep, the button used to fire up the new Mustang actually lights up at the same speed as a horse’s heartbeat, which is roughly 30 beats a minute. Pretty clever, huh? The new feature will be standard on the Mustang GT when it goes on sale later this year. It will also come standard on the 2.3-liter EcoBoost model.

Of course, the 2018 Mustang also features a number of other cool tech features, like a new 12-inch customizable instrument cluster and enhanced SYNC infotainment system.

That said, the most anticipated news about the 2018 Mustang is how much power will be packed into the new GT model. Ford still hasn’t offered any specifics about the horsepower numbers for either model. But rumor has it the 2018 Mustang GT will be the most powerful production Mustang GT to ever roll off Ford’s assembly line.
