Shelby GT350 Earns Big Accolades from Car and Driver

We fully expect there to be a whole lot more praise rolling in for this special Mustang before it’s all said and done. After all, the motto for the new Shelby GT350 should really be “What’s not to like?”

Car and Driver seems to agree, which explains why they included the more track oriented variant of the Ford Pony Car on their list of the 10 Best Cars of the Year. Zeroing in on the Shelby’s performance capabilities, the buff book praises the Michigan-built muscle car for both its power and pure handling capabilities tackling those turns on the tarmac.

“This so-called Voodoo engine is built for a track, and not the kind with a Christmas tree and a burnout box,” writes Car and Driver’s Ezra Dyer. “This is the heart of a road-course stormer, hand-built by a two-person team on a moving line.”

He continues…”the GT350 and GT350R are radical departures. These are not just unlike any other Mustang. They’re not like any other car, period.”
