'07 on the Blue Ridge Pkwy (photos)

We went to Little Switzerland (an hour from Asheville) yesterday on the parkway. Always a nice drive during the week as the weekends get too crowded. Very cool (actually cold at the 5000'+ elevations) so the top was up until we hit much lower elevations. A few photos.

Love the Blue Ridge Parkway but we're usually on the Harley's. We need to try it in my 08 Bullitt.
Why do they call it Little Switzerland? And where on the parkway is it located?

Thanks tukatz.
MikeMo5390, This is from their website: Little Switzerland was named because of its sweeping panoramas of deep valleys and distant ranges resembling those of the foothills of the Swiss Alps.

Located at exit 334 off the Blue Ridge Parkway, we’re about an hour's drive from Asheville NC.

Gorgeous place that BRP .... we have been hitting it some up here in Va as well. Colors are good and we've been lucky to get some good days for looking.

These were on October 19th.

Overlooking the Shenandoah Valley near Irish creek area, Jump mountain in the distance, my home is in that valley too.

But you are within striking distance of the Boston Mountains in Arkansas. The S2000 people do a drive there and it looks outstanding.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that white convertable "popping" from the fall foliage in your pics. I think y'all's higher elevation has y'all's colors a little further along ... or y'all just have more reds?

Wife and I drove through them up 23, east on 16, and south on 7 back in 2005 on the way home from out west ..... it is a gorgeous area. Reminded me a lot of the Alleghanies. There's also the Ouachita Mts that are some closer to him.
