Unmarked Mustang GT

Let this serve as a warning: police in Florida are roaming the streets in unmarked Ford Mustang GTs.

Is there a worse feeling than rolling down the highway and seeing those flashing lights on a police car suddenly appear in your rearview? Just reading that sentence may give you a twinge of anxiety. Typically, those lights are mounted on a police car that you could spot a mile away. However, sometimes the cops like to make it a little bit tougher for you to spot them and use unmarked vehicles. The Ford Mustang has been used as a police car for years. Sometimes they are clearly marked as such, but sometimes you have no idea until those lights hit you. That is what happened to this Lamborghini Urus driver that was cruising the highway in Florida.

If you drive a neon green Lamborghini Urus, you should expect a certain amount of attention. Some of it will be from admiring car enthusiasts, but some of it will also be from law enforcement. This is not the type of vehicle you choose if you want to fly under the radar.

In this video we see that the Urus driver got all the wrong kind of attention. The Urus is cruising in the left lane with an ordinary looking Ruby Red Ford Mustang GT following behind. Nothing seems unusual. Then all of a sudden, the Mustang bursts to life with a full set of concealed flashing lights. The Urus is forced to pull over.

Watching the video clip offers no real context into why the cop decided the Lambo needed to pull over. From what we see the green super SUV was just plodding along in traffic. Perhaps previously it was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic.

Maybe the cop never saw one of these before and just wanted to talk to the driver about the cool ride. We don’t know the reason, but what we do know is the driver of the Urus got a very unpleasant surprise.

No matter what the reason was, this video serves as a great educational tool. The education you are receiving is to be mindful if you are driving along in the state of Florida. You might want to think twice about blowing by a Ford Mustang GT. Chances are that it is being driven by an ordinary citizen that realizes the Mustang GT is the greatest pony car in the world.

However, there is a chance that is being driven by a police officer. A police officer that believes the Mustang GT is the greatest undercover police cruiser in the world. Also, chances are that Florida is not the only state that is using the Mustang as an unmarked police vehicle. Be careful out there, and think twice before messing with a Mustang GT.
