Modded Mustang Police Car Leads German Parade
This Police Mustang Is Meant to Promote Safety in the Aftermarket Community
Cologne, Germany saw something a bit different at the lead of the Rose Monday parade. With the Mustang now entering worldwide sales, its popularity has grown immensely. Germany’s love of fast cars meant it was only a matter of time before tuners got ahold of the pony car and turned up the wick.
Spearheading the call for safety in the tuning industry is Germany’s Tune it! Safe! program, which encourages drivers to keep tomfoolery off public roads. The idea is to promote and enforce driving etiquette, while still showing that modification and car culture are perfectly fine.

This police Mustang won’t actually see any service duty, though, as it is purely an exhibition piece. However, it has been modified to fit the Tune it! Safe! program.
The 5.0 GT is now said to make 455 horsepower, likely from a tune. It sits on big 20-inch wheels. Lowering springs set the ride height a bit lower, too. Some added aero completes the package.
Wolf Racing performed the modifications. They report the sprint to 60 takes less than 4.3 seconds. Indeed, if it were a real police car, you’d be hard-pressed to outrun it.
