Mustang Infuriates Hellcat & Demon With Killer Tune

By -

With little more than a couple of basic mods, this brand new Mustang slays multiple modern Mopar muscle cars.

If you keep up with the world of street/drag racing these days, you already know that Dodge’s Hellcats and purpose-built Demon get all the press. And sure, with sky-high horsepower numbers and suspension bits designed specifically for going fast in a straight line, there’s a good reason for that. But what those of us in the know realize is that the latest and greatest Mustang makes a pretty darn good track monster, too. With a few mods, you can easily run with the much-ballyhooed modern Mopar muscle, in fact.

That point is on full display in this latest video from StangMode. During a recent trip to this year’s Mod2Fame fest, our Ford-driving hero dusts a pair of Hellcat Challengers and gives a Demon a run for his money. Hilariously, the first race takes place right after the Hellcat owner talks more than his fair share of trash. So who’s the real underdog here – the 707 hp Mopar or the little ol’ tuned Mustang GT? For good measure, Stangmode even throws up the deuces after gapping the Hellcat with ease.

The Hellcat owner blames his slow 60 foot on factory tires, of course. So next, the Mustang driver takes on a widebody Hellcat with drag radials. Those sticky tires fail to compensate for sleeping at the tree, and our hero Mustang handily wins that race as well, despite recording a slower e.t. After taking out another Mustang, Standmode has enough confidence to line up against a Dodge Demon.

The naturally-aspirated ‘Stang does its best, but can’t match the Demon’s 10.49 e.t. A Vortech-blown 2018 Mustang tries next, yet comes up three-tenths short. But you can bet this rivalry is just getting started. And we don’t doubt that either of these cars will be hunting (and killing) Demons before long.
