Throwback Thursday: Mustang Blows Tire Dynoing at 150 MPH!

It seems that if Mustangs aren’t crashing into things while leaving Cars & Coffees, they’re still out creating mayhem. To avoid some of the mayhem, let one thing be clear: if you plan on doing a dyno run, make sure your tires are in good shape!

For this week’s Throwback Thursday post, we bring you this YouTube footage from 1320video, which features a rather common sight at most trade shows or large car gatherings: a rolling dyno. It’s basically a dynamometer that’s able to be towed like a regular trailer, and then set up at a venue to work like a normal shop dyno. That being said, what happens to a tire in this video is never part of the plan.

If you fast-forward to the 0:40 second mark, you’ll see the exact reason why we featured this video, as well as why this Mustang owner was not a happy camper. In the end, we’re just happy no one has hurt after such a big blow out.

Whether it’s on a track or on a dyno, always make sure to double check your lug nuts, tires condition, and air pressure, as well as other safety vitals.
