We all know that the new sixth-generation Mustang is one of the greatest cars on the road, and a big award just rolled in to help prove that point.

After wide reports of the demise of the V8, a Ford rep shoots down that rumor while saying that the “V8 still plays an important role in our product lineup.”

Hopefully, they’re just being weirdly paranoid, but a website says they have a source inside Ford that states the company is looking to phase out the V8 among all platforms, including the Mustang, by 2017.
