Palm Beach Dyno GT500 2020 Breaks World Record Quarter Mile Stock Engine and DCT

Palm Beach Dyno Sets a New Record in Their Stock Transmission and Stock Engine GT500 with an 8.8-Second/158 Mph Pass!

Not too long ago, we brought you the story of Palm Beach Dyno’s record-shattering pass with a stock supercharger and pulley GT500. It managed to sprint the quarter-mile in the 9s. Even more impressive is the fact that it was on pump gas. If you’re familiar with the world of high-performance Mustangs, we’re confident that you’re no stranger to the wicked tuning and building they do. From their exciting dyno pull videos and 1,000 wheel horsepower builds to eye-watering quick passes at the drag strip, Palm Beach Dyno is a dominant force in the Mustang tuning world. Now, they’ve shattered yet another record.

Recently, Palm Beach Dyno posted a video to their Facebook page showing their Blue GT500 making a monumentally fast pass in the quarter-mile. Not only that, but it shattering the record for the fastest stock engine and stock DCT GT500. With an 8.8-second pass at 158 miles per hour, we can only imagine the thrill of being behind the wheel. This one, however, does not have the stock supercharger. So, what did they do to this monster that made this a possibility?

Suspension Upgrades, a Whipple Supercharger, and a Whole Bunch of Fuel Make This Possible

This GT500 has Kelltrac adjustable suspension in the rear that Palm Beach Dyno added to combat the front end coming up on launch. With adjustable stiffness, they were able to fine-tune the settings to minimalize front wheel lift and crack off an insane 1.36-second 60 foot. Additionally, this brutal snake has a set of Forgeline bead locks on the rear with an accompanying set of drag slicks.

All the additional power needed to make this run comes from a 2.3-liter Whipple supercharger with a 2.75-inch pulley and a -8 rib belt. Furthermore, it has a triple pump fuel system with Injector Dynamics injectors. It’s also running One Ethanol R, a blend of E85 specifically designed for high-performance applications.

Finally, to keep this all together with the massive power, it uses a set of G Force axles and, to keep things flowing freely upfront, a set of Kooks Headers. Needless to say, this thing is far from stock. However, it’s still using a sealed engine and stock transmission, hence the title as the fastest stock engine GT500.

The Power Figure Is Even More Insane than You Might Think

Not too long ago, we brought you the story of this very GT500 making an astonishing 1,100 horsepower. However, it has gotten even more insane since then. According to a comment PMD made on their Facebook page, it was producing 1,268 horsepower to the wheels with a three-inch pulley. Though they didn’t dyno it with the 2.75-inch pulley, it’s safe to assume that number has gone up a fairly significant amount. To think that this is the stock engine still is pure insanity.

Overall, we can’t get enough of what Palm Beach Dyno is doing with their GT500s. However, we don’t think 8.8-seconds is where they’re going to stop, so we’ll definitely be watching future endeavors involving this monster of a Mustang!
