Sleeper Mustang GT Completely Destroys a Lamborghini Hurácan

Seriously, what can’t the Coyote V8 do?!

Let’s say you just came into a fortune and want to show it off a little. If you’re young (or young at heart), you might go flashy and pick up a Lamborghini. And if you’re feeling lucky (or stupid), you might take it racing. This Huracán owner did. And, as captured by Street Car Video, he ended up getting surprised. Very, very surprised.

On the surface, it doesn’t look like a fair fight. Its 631-horse V10 should easily be able to put something like a modern Mustang GT away. And that’s before this owner added a twin-turbo setup, bumping power to a cool 750 horses. Maybe he doesn’t know that this S550 GT is also hot. Or maybe, he just doesn’t know what the 5.0-liter Coyote is capable of. This one is running a Paxton blower and E85 tune. And the result is much a fairer fight than you’d expect.

750-horse Lamborghini Huracán versus blown Mustang GT.

In the first race, the Lambo does what you’d expect it to do. After a rolling start, the Huracán just out-pulls the GT. Then there’s a rematch, and the supercharged Mustang just annihilates it. There’s no bad shift, no traction loss, and no miscommunication. The Mustang wins fair and square. We never see or hear from the driver, but we hear a few seconds of well-deserved celebrating from inside the cockpit. Bringing things back down to earth a little, the next clip shows the yellow 5.0 doing battle against a procharged Camaro. The Chevy, like the Lambo, is soon left in the dust.

Unfortunately, we don’t know much about this Mustang. As is par for the course with street racing videos, it (and its opponents) are just plate-less cars on some anonymous highway in the middle of the night. All we get are a few different angles of the races and a few seconds of victory inside the GT. But for fans of the S550 and all it can do with just a little coaxing, this short video is one hell of a fun watch.
