Base Interior (Cloth) UPDATE...
so the base gt will have the things like mpg and miles to empty? if so that would be really sweet and make my decision on a non premium easier!

MyColor gauges, power driver seat w/ lumbar, ambient lighting, aluminum instrument panel, pedal covers, illuminated scuff plates, door-trim inserts, leather-trimmed seats and steering wheel, Shaker 500, Sirius Satellite, etc.
Premium package is a lot more than just leather seats and steering wheel.

Yeah I'm going to be getting the premium GT, possibly with the premier trim, but that base interior does not look half bad at all. At least they did away with the running horses crap. That was terrible. As Dr Phil would say, "What were you THINKING!?"
i could care less about mycolor, power seats since mine stays where it sits. ambient light. stock raidio sucks even shaker.
Good leather seats can be had for 600-1000. steering wheel can be changed too.
eci you are right about the resale value. it is less. however i dont plan to sell this car for a long, long time. I made that mistake with my last stang and i regret it almost every day. i miss it.
all im saying guys. if you want premium thats AWESOME. however it is not for everyone. and its good to have that option.

All I Need!

Resale may be on par with the Premium...seeing that the Electronic upgrades (Navi, Sync) will be somewhat less superior in 5-10 years...A base car without the outdated tech will not mean much.
thank you topnotch.
i wish i could get the 18r fleet option as well. that wheel looks sweet.
got a question for the ford ppl here. since that is a fleet wheel. do you have to have a fin to order the wheel seperate or can anyone do that?

Nice to finally see pics of the base interior. I could definitely live with it except for the steering wheel That is the same cheap plastic steering wheel that came on my '08 GT Premium (with no options except spoiler delete and 3.55 gears). My first modification for the car was to buy a new leather Bullitt steering wheel.
I prefer cloth, non-power seats, and it will be a tough choice for me. I'd really like MyColor with the extra gauges like you used to be able to get as an option on the early base S197's, along with the new Premium steering wheel with audio controls on the steering wheel, but I'd rather not have leather seats.
I can either get a base GT with the Brembo package, add a better steering wheel, and try and be happy with the lower price, and presumably lighter weight of the decontented base GT (along with no stupid trunk wart), or pay more for the Premium GT with Brembo package and try and pick up some cloth seats later, and live with the ridiculous black trunk wart Ford still feels the need to stick on every Premium Mustang. Maybe I could get black to minimize the impact of the wart, but I really wanted Sterling Gray. Decisions, decisions.....
