They did not...those and the Mustang script on the V6 seats were dropped.

No they didn't. I'm actually not sure what year these seats are (??-2004?), but I really dislike them. Didn't the 05-09 have a similar pony on the cloth?

IMO the base interior is better in person than these pics depict
sat in a V6 base today, it had tannish cloth seats
steering wheel looked a bit better than the pics, lack of oil and voltage didn't really seem to stand out either
there also seemed to be more of a diff. in color of the dash panel making the whole dash look less charcoal plastic monochromatic

if $3200 makes or breaks you the base car is not that bad

So this is what the GT non-premium would look like? I don't think it is bad at all. The only thing the premium has that I would want is the leather wrapped wheel.

I'm glad that you can now get the Brembos on the base GT. I think the only thing you can't order on the base that I would want is the HID headlights.

Sit in one and grab the plastic steering wheel, you will then hate it. It's not how it looks, it is how it feels.

If I can finally get the base GT like I want, this will be one of the first things I change.

What is the deal with the 18R Driver Ornamentation Pkg? Does this give you a leather wheel. What is a fleet only requirement? I'm going to my dealer Thursday to order. Can I ask for this?

You're a 100% right.. it actually feels like sandpaper, you can't slide your hands on it, fortunately it's an easy fix

You have to have a fleet ID number to be able to order fleet options.

If you have someone inside of a car rental company that will order a car for you, they can order it.

I don't know about the "easy fix", not very easy for me to cough up the $$$ for a different wheel.

And the wheel in the base GT I drove didn't feel rough just not very "grippy".

For me it was both the appearance and feel of the base steering wheel that really turned me off. Anyways, used (but in good condition) stock leather wheels always seem to turn up here, on ebay, and elsewhere, for much less than the $300-400 that new GT500 steering wheels go for.

Prob didn't drive it that long.. very uncomfortable and
$350 is a hell of a lot cheaper than $3000+ for a premium! and easy as in it takes 15 minutes to change.

Do you need to remove the airbag and use a wheel puller?

i honestly have no idea what you are talking about...i have worked with alot of sandpaper and my 2010 base GT wheel feels fine to me, it may not be as "nice" as a leather one but it works fine for me.

Drive a premium then you will be sold on the leather steering wheel. I've driven both, the base steering wheel sucks.

$3000 buys alot of rubber(amongst other things )... I'll pass!

GT500 steering wheel is better than any other steering wheel that ford offers anyways. I would probably swap it out even in a premium car.

Is your 2011 base also? I am in HEAVY debate over getting the base model. I did not mind the steering wheel in the 2010 base GT I drove but of course I preferrred the leather one in the 3 premiums I drove.
