Base Interior (Cloth) UPDATE...
the 10 is a normal base with auto. (daily driver / GF car)
the 11 is manual with brembo and 3.73 (mine and more fun to drive)
I have to agree with Joshua on this one. I have a 2011 GT base and even though the steering wheel is visually less appealing than that of the premium, I wouldn't go as far as saying it is really rough and maybe a slight gritty (plasticky) feeling. It definitely has a rougher feeling than would a leather wrap steering would have but it's not terrible. I got the base model for financial reasons but still wanted the 5.0. I am planning to change the steering wheel in the future though only because I like the way the premium one looks. The softer feel would be just a bonus.
Yes, you need to remove the airbag, but it is simple and quick to do, and no, you don't need a steering wheel puller. It took me 20-30 minutes and I took my time.
Don't wait too long to buy a better steering wheel. If the earlier S197 parts are any indication, prices will go way up on them before too long. The Bullitt steering wheel I bought two years ago is now around $150 more expensive.

Buy a premium steering wheel and dash overlays, and the problem is solved. The absence of the aluminum on the steering wheel actually makes it look less "busy," imo. I like it that way.
Would a leather wheel be nicer? Yes.
$3200 worth of nicer? No.
1. Steering Wheel: I lived with a base wheel since my 2007 was new and my 2011 has a base wheel as well. Although they look identical the "grain" in the rim of the 2011 is mush less aggressive (2007 was a match for my MGW Gripper Shift ****) and the rim is a little softer and spongier. On a related note the steering is a little over-boosted at parking lot speeds but firms up nicely with just a little speed.
1. Base 4-Gauge Setup: Appears to have My-Color as it appears when you are scrolling through the Information Center. I have not tried to reset it from Ice Blue so I cant say for sure if its functional.
2. MPG and Range to Empty: Base Info Center does have this.
3. Traction/Stability Control (Someone asked, cant find post): Full 4 Modes - ON, Traction Control Off (Press Once), Sport Mode (Press Twice), Traction Control and Stability Control Off (Press and Hold for 5 Seconds).
4. Cloth Seats: Very nice even if they did lose the power drivers seat compared to my 2007. The 6-Way Manual Drivers seat is more comfortable and more supportive than the pre-airbag seats.

No My Color on the base gauges (I didnt think it would work).
Their is a button for Satellite Radio as well that doesnt work. Base has CD and 160W 4 Speaker Stereo.
Their may be a kit that adds Sat Radio as you get a card for 6 months free Sat Radio in the Owners Packet.
The good thing is no Sat Radio Wart on the Deck Lid.
I sat in the base and premium cars this weekend and the difference is in the eyes of the beholder. The base is "nice" but when I compared it to the premium Stone interior, to me there was a lot of difference. I ordered premium but that's what I wanted. To each his own.
Clean it? I use the Meguairs leather stuff on them whenever I do the seats. Never had any issues.

Just wondering, but can I custom order a GT Premium with cloth seats/no leather door inserts? I would if I could, because leather is sticky in the hot Florida summer, and I sweat a lot, so...
