First Bullitt Airbox In The Flesh!

here Is The Long Awaited Bullitt Airbox! Should Be A Popular Retrofit! It Is A Stout Piece And Oe Quality! That Air Filter Is Paper Btw! I Am Still Waiting On The Pieces From The Elbow To The Throttle Body! More Pics When I Recieve! Btw The Other Intake Piece Has What Appears To Be An Intake Resonator Like The 05 Automatics Had. I Am Sure To Keep Intake Noise At Bay. I Would Guess Some Will Want To Eliminate That! Anyway This Is All For Now! AS USUAL YOU SAW IT FIRST ON TMS!

enjoy

It certainly would be. I find aftermarket airboxes "cheesey" at best.

A Few things to Take into consideration is this is a Stationary Box. Most if Not All Aftermarket are Floating to Some Extent. That is they Move with the Engine. So in Order to Use on one of those Systems the Filter Itself Can Not Be Totally Bolted to the Box Like the Factory Setup. Some Variations will Have to Be Addressed to get the Most out of the Box Setup. I would Be Curious what would Happen if the Complete Intake Setup were Merely Bolted On to See What would Happen as Far as Power Increase. Then a Tune For Optimization. That would Be Valuable Info Indeed! Of Course The Main Advantage Would Not Be Really Reflected on the Dyno which is The Inlet temperature Going down the Road on A typical Cai vs the Box Setup. Time Will Tell!

One thing I'm curious about is where the air comes in. Apparently Ford Racing believes there's more airflow coming from the under the leading edge of the hood while Ford has their airbox taking air from the fender well.

It would be nice if you could order just the airbox and rubber surrounds to makeshift something for a different CAI...

If you are Just Using the Box with an Existing Cai and Tune It would Not be An Issue as it is Just a Cold Box. Now if you Put the Entire Bullitt Setup up On I believe a Tune would Likely Be Needed. I already have an Email in to a Tuner to Discuss the Bullitt Setup.

Does that tuner happen to be located in my state? If so, he's used my car as a guinea pig once before...

If it doesn't adversely affect performance, the price is right, and works with a C&L racer.. I'm in.
The C&L racer look like it belongs on a stock engine but the box that comes with it does not.
Let us know when it makes it's way into the hotsheets.

Who me?? I've already told him to send me one when they are available. I'm going to try to get a few air intakes already on the market to work with them or do some small mods to get the box to work with the other kits. I haven't got the calibration codes yet for the Bullit's so I dont know if the actual air intake kit is any larger then that of the stock airbox so truly I dont know if there would be any improvements from adding the airbox alone but maybe to an existing air intake.

Thanks, Doug.

First one on the Way to Doug! I gave him the Calibration Codes for the Bullitt Tune and he was Impressed with the Specs! Looking Good So Far!
