Shelby Super Snake Auction to Benefit Las Vegas First Responders

Mark Field's former Shelby Super Snake is heading to auction.

This Mustang GT500 belonged to former Ford CEO Mark Fields before joining the president of Barrett-Jackson’s private car collection.

The recent events in Las Vegas caused an outpouring of help from the general public, companies, and of course, celebrities. Despite bearing the title “deadliest shooting in US history,” this cowardly act of terror also led to some positive stories and headlines, proving that people are still happy to step up and help thy neighbor.

If there’s a group that’s often overlooked during a tragedy, it’s first responders. Whether it’s medical personnel, law enforcement, or even bystanders, first responders play an enormous role in minimizing casualties and bringing chaos under control.

Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas auction is quickly approaching. And Steve Davids, the company’s president, will auction off a 2007 Shelby GT500 Super Snake from his private car collection.

Previously owned by former Ford CEO Mark Fields, the GT500 was the seventh example to roll off the line. It was later upgraded to Super Snake status under the supervision of Carroll Shelby himself.

The stunning Pony Car will surely command big bucks. But in a great twist, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to benefit Las Vegas’ first responders. Under the hood of this unique stallion is a 5.4-liter V8 engine. It produces 605 horsepower thanks to a ram-air hood and several other tweaks.

The body features a carbon fiber front splitter and skirts, and it wouldn’t be a real Shelby without plenty of badges inside and out. The combination of sexy looks, incredible performance, and a plaque and book signed by Shelby adds a special incentive to motivated buyers.
