1. Performance White

There is nothing more aggressive than two thick stripes that show the Mustang's true attitude. Forum member Sonic Thunder shared his blue S197 Mustang with the white stripes. The stripes are 12" in width each with a 1.5" gap in between them. These stripes were painted on and they cost $1,000. From the looks of it, they were worth every penny.

2. Subtle But Mean

Some of the very popular stripes are subtle, like Packman's Mustang. The light contrast between the color of the car and the white hood stripes make for a very elegant, yet aggressive, overall look. The stripes complement the body without taking too much of the attention off of it. These are 10" in width each with a 1" gap in between, and they are painted on the S197.

3. 1970 Hood Stripe

For a more classic look, forum member #6Fan chose the 1970 hood stripe style. Instead of two thick stripes going down the hood, this is one thick stripe, complemented with two thin stripes around it, with what looks to be a 2" gap on each side. This was a popular design on the 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1.

4. Sonic Blue Madness

Forum member Wysts43 went with a thick, all-out design for his stripes. The 2005 Sonic Blue Mustang features Satin Silver painted stripes going from the very front of the bumpers, all the way to the very rear of the S197. The two stripes are some of the thickest around, measuring 12" wide each, and although the gap looks small, it is a 2" gap. The stripes are painted on the body, and they came with a price tag of $1,200.

12" with 2" gap. $1,200.

5. Boss Style

The Boss Style Package pays tribute to the Mustang Boss, and it features a unique design that goes from the center and down the sides of the car. The center is 10" with 4" sides. The main stripe stops in the hood, but the sides keep going down the S197 and along the sides of it.

6. Vinyl Stripes

Iceknyght went with the vinyl route for the stripes on his S197 Mustang, and it came out beautiful. The two stripes are 8" wide with a 3" gap, and the color combination of the Mustang's exterior with the metallic silver stripes make the car look sleek. Note that the stripes on this Mustang were professionally installed, but Iceknyght says if he had to do it again, he would do it himself.

7. Odd Stripe

For the fans of things that are different, you may really like the one stripe off the side of this Mustang. This S197 was found in Switzerland, which features one gunmetal stripe on the right side of the car. Although it looks odd at first, it truly complements the car, especially with the low contrast between the stripe and the black paint on this Ford Mustang.
