This S550 Roush Mustang puts its 750 supercharged horsepower to good use on a light traffic day on Germany’s most famous road.

The Ford Mustang has long been an American institution, a car that enjoys a tremendously passionate fanbase across the U.S. However, the Mustang is also quite popular in other parts of the world, such as Europe, where the pony car has been exported and sold for a number of years now, including through the S550 generation. Turns out, it’s a pretty fun place to own one of these cars, as we can clearly see in this recently Autobahn run from the YouTube channel AutoTopNL behind the wheel of an S550 Roush Mustang.

While one can order up an S550 Roush Mustang in many different flavors and configurations, this one has been treated to the ultimate upgrade from the longtime pony car tuner – its Stage 3 supercharger kit, which boosts the car’s factory 5,0-liter Coyote V8 in a big way, helping it churn out a cool 750 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. In this guise, that power flows to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

Running on an unrestricted section of Germany’s famous Autobahn, the S550 Roush Mustang certainly has the speed to back up those lofty figures, thanks to a lack of traffic on this particular day. It breezes past the 120 mph mark without so much as breaking a sweat, and winds up hitting speeds of 273 kilometers-per-hour, or 170 miles-per-hour, though we imagine that it has more in the tank.

After all, a stock Mustang GT from this generation is capable of reaching 164 mph, but of course, that’s on a closed course with ideal conditions. Here on a real road with other vehicles around, there are many things to take into consideration, but 170 mph is still impressive by any measure. It’s also shockingly easy to do with this car’s blower whining in the background, making for a truly visceral experience that’s one of the many, many reasons why we all love pony cars so much – no matter which part of the world you might reside in.
