Mustang Boss 351

If you’re a diehard fan of ’71 Mustangs, then you probably have a special appreciation for this photo.

The picture showcases not one, not two, but three Mustang Boss 351s. All these cars positioned together would be a dream collection for most Boss fans. Of course, the Boss 351 isn’t quite as well-known as the 428 Boss. But as Hot Rod reveals in a recent report, the model is iconic in its own right.

The Boss 351, equipped with a 330-horsepower V8, first showed up in November of 1970 with only 2,000 units sold. At $4,101, it was the most expensive of any Mustang in 1971.

The 351s pictured here (including one in the process of major restoration) are owned by three different people. But the story behind the restorations of all the Boss Mustangs highlights the passion for these classic cars, as detailed in the full Hot Rod report. Check it out, and then let us know if you have a little more respect for the 351.
