One-of-a-Kind Pink and Blue Shelby Mustang GT500SE Races For a Cure

If we’re being honest, this might be our favorite way to raise money for charity.

We love horsepower here at The Mustang Source. Who doesn’t? However, what we love even more is our friends and family. We cherish each and every moment we spend with those we care about most. Like many of you, we know firsthand what it feels like to watch those closest to us battle cancer. It’s a helpless feeling. We always wish we could do something.

Well, you can – and, best of all, you’ve got a shot at winning a unique, one-off Shelby Mustang while you do it. According to trade publication The Shop, Shelby American built this special pink and blue 2021 Shelby GT500SE to help raise money for a charity called Cruise for a Cause.

The charity funds cancer research, and the car will travel the country before being raffled off in a sweepstakes. We’ll probably end up snagging a few raffle tickets ourselves.

One Powerful Pony

The lucky winner will own one very unique, very powerful Shelby Mustang – and, like all of the other entrants, they’ll have the satisfaction of knowing they did their part to fund cancer research, too. The one-of-a-kind car is dubbed the Hope Edition, and features special paint, graphics, and badging commemorating its role as an important, high-horsepower fundraising tool.

It’s based on a 2021 Shelby GT500SE Signature Edition. The GT500SE is a rare machine to begin with, as only 100 will be built in total. Incidentally, a portion of the proceeds of each GT500SE sold go to the Carroll Shelby Foundation, a charity that helps terminally ill children. That means that this car double-dips on the charity action – how cool is that? 800 horsepower has never felt so good.

For those of you keeping score at home, that’s an additional 40 horsepower over the standard 2021 Shelby GT500. Other changes include an upgraded suspension, as well as special graphics and badging. Like we said, though, just a handful of GT500SEs will be built, so don’t drag your feet. We expect them to go fast. After all, that’s what Shelby Mustangs do best.
