#TBT: Old-School Mustang Video Is a True Classic

We just love those old classic Mustang ads from the sixties. You know the ones, where the voices have that over-the-top Hollywood tone, like they’re trying to sell you on some top secret mission, well beyond the scope of a car.

Take the one below, for example, titled “Classic 1965 Ford Mustang Gone Surfing”. It begins with an image of a man opening the door to the Mustang and seeing a hula dancer moving to some Hawaiian themed music. It then shifts focus to another image of the man, galloping to the sounds of an actual horse.

What’s really interesting, though, is that as funny and dated as the ad seems now, it’s actually still pretty clever in how it conveys what it’s really like to own a Mustang. We’re not sure if it’d appeal to today’s Shelby GT350 buyer, but then again, do you really need an ad to sell anybody on that beast?
