Ohio Ford Dealership Targets Rivals with a 700-horsepower Mustang

By -

Lebanon Ford is at it again with a drag-ready Mustang that can run the quarter mile in 10 seconds for just $60,000.

Until Ford officially comes out with a proper drag-racing rival to the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, owners will have to turn to the aftermarket community for answers. Lebanon Ford in Lebanon, Ohio, though, has taken it upon itself to offer enthusiasts incredibly overpowered Ford Mustangs.

Earlier this year, the dealership announced the LFP Hellion, a 1,200-horsepower twin-turbocharged Mustang for just $50,000. Now, Lebanon Ford is back with the LFP 10, a purpose-built, street-legal drag racing Mustang with 700 horsepower that costs — get this — just $59,995. It may be more expensive than the LFP Hellion, but this model is fitted with plenty of drag-racing goodies to ensure owners can lay down a quick time at the track.

Lebanon Ford starts off with a regular Mustang GT. The first items that get slapped on are a Roush Stage 2 supercharger kit, beefier fuel injectors, a bespoke ECU tune, a high-flow air intake, an upgraded cooling system, and a larger oil pump. These components raise the Mustang’s power figure to 700 horsepower, but Road & Track claims that Lebanon Ford believes the majority of customers will limit power to just 650 horsepower to ensure that the machine remains reliable.

To ensure the 700-horsepower Mustang can put its power down at the strip, the dealership adds Viking adjustable shocks and BMR springs that have been tuned with drag racing in mind. Mickey Thompson Tires and Racestar wheels ensure the Mustang has enough rubber to handle the power, while an upgraded driveshaft and stronger half-shafts allow hard launches without destroying the car’s driveline.

All of the parts help the LFP 10 complete the quarter mile in 10 seconds. And when you’re driving that fast, safety becomes an issue. That is where the six-point, bolt-in roll bar and Baer Deep Stage front brakes come in handy.

Again, the price for the LFP 10 sits just below $60,000. And the vehicle, despite wearing extremely sticky rubber, can be used on the road with another set of tires. That makes it an ideal machine for those without space in their garage for a dedicated drag racer.

Is it as crazy as the Demon? No, obviously not. But at $60,000, it’s more affordable and readily available. That’s a win-win. And for those that want to get a close-up look at the machine and see it in action, Lebanon Ford put out a video of the vehicle, which you can enjoy above.
