Stolen Toy Mustang in New Jersey Takes an Interesting Spin

New Jersey story hints at the power of Mustangs — regardless of how little the model might seem.

Things like the size or age of the vehicle hold no bearing on how we treat them at the offices of TMS. Sure, we often find ourselves debating the undebatable, like which Mustang is the greatest of all-time. And though we’d like to, it’s impossible to cover every Mustang-related story we come across.

Still, it’s our belief that anything about the iconic nameplate is worthy of attention. Especially when it involves a young Mustang fan who’s just getting into the brand. That’s why we were so drawn to the story of a young girl’s Power Wheels Mustang in Hackettstown, New Jersey.

According to the New Jersey Herald, the Mustang went missing and was later returned broken. Apparently, a woman thought the toy had been left out for the garbage. But after hearing stories claiming the Power Wheels had been stolen, she decided to return the Mustang, much to the delight of the little girl and her family. There’s no real explanation offered as to how it wound up damaged.

However, the most interesting part of the story is the two Good Samaritans who stepped up to order the girl another Mustang before the missing one was returned. Of course, the girl is now bubbling with excitement about the new one. But the deeper point here is that clearly, we aren’t the only ones moved by Ford Mustang stories, regardless of its size or age of its owner.
