Ah, the all-new Lincoln MKC

Why are we reveling in a new luxury compact crossover on a Mustang site you ask?

Well, to date, the new MKC is the closest we’ve gotten to the much-talked about turbo engine that’to be offered in the new 2015 Mustang line-up.

The luxury compact crossover, recently unveiled at a posh event in New York City that we managed to land an invite to, debuted with the 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine option expected in the new Mustang that generates 275 horsepower and 300 lb-ft. of torque.

The base 2.o-liter engine for the MKC generates 240-horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque.

In addition to the turbo engine, the 2015 Mustang engine line-up is expected to include an upgraded standard 3.7-liter V6 along with the current 5.0-liter V8.

More information to come in the near future as “The Mustang Source” has also landed an invite to Ford’s media briefing in Detroit, Dec. 12, at which the new Mustang will likely be showcased.

In addition to engine options, here’s hoping Ford has a few more menu options than the sushi served at the MKC event for some of us Mustang fans who are more of the meat and potatoes kind of guys.
