Mustang Top Seller Among All 250-Plus Horsepower Cars in U.K.

Guess what car is topping performance vehicle sales in the United Kingdom for 2016?

Yup, the Mustang — as if that headline wasn’t a dead give-away, right? That and the fact that if it were any vehicle other than the Ford Pony car, we probably wouldn’t be reporting on it here.

Fortunately, that’s far from the case, with 2,317 Mustangs sold across the pond so far in 2016. To put that in perspective, Jaguar has sold 1,446 F-Types, the second biggest-selling 250-plus horsepower car in the U.K. in 2016. BMW and Porsche, on the other hand, have only sold about 1,300 units of the 6-Series and 911, respectively.

The most-popular Mustang in the line-up? The GT, of course. To date, the split has been about 70-percent of the customers in Europe going for the 5.0-litre V8 engine and just 30-percent opting for the 2.3-litre EcoBoost.

Since the Mustang first launched in Europe in January of 2015, Ford has sold 19,500 models in the U.K. Not too shabby, eh?
