Mustang Owner Does the Unthinkable
Sorry, but this custom spare tire mod should be banned from the universe forever. No exceptions.
The world of custom Mustangs can be very odd. Think of the worst automotive idea you can. Chances are someone is out there wrenching away right now, working hard to turn their Mustang into that.
Take the custom contraption in this CarScoops report for example. C’mon, there’s no excuse for subjecting a modern Mustang (or any Mustang, really) to a look inspired by an ancient luxo-barge.
You remember continental kits, right? Sure, there’s a bit of nostalgia tied to the vestigial spare tires that became obsolete back in the ’40s. But not many features from the good old days should end up on a current vehicle – especially not a Mustang. Really, there’s only one rule to remember when customizing a Pony Car: It shouldn’t hurt the eyes.
Makes sense, right? Well, apparently the idea doesn’t resonate with all Mustang owners.

Now, don’t get us wrong. We firmly believe that every car owner should be able to customize their vehicle any way they like. But when it taints the Mustang’s overall image, the owner should be prepared for any criticism hurled their way.
Of course, this isn’t the worst custom Mustang we’ve ever seen. Don’t worry, we’ll spare you some of the more dreadful work we’ve stumbled across over the years.
But if you think you’re up for it on your own, Google “ugly custom Mustangs” in the images tab. Trust us, you’ll find more cars than you’d ever like to see that are beyond classification. But be warned: The Mustang Source won’t be held responsible for any spiraling mood swings caused by these images.
Those troubles, friend, are for you to cope with, and you alone.
