Mustang Mach-E 1400 Hot Sauce

Ford’s attempt to replicate the feeling of riding in the Mustang Mach-E 1400 isn’t its first culinary connection.

Though they may seem like two distinctly different things, food and cars have long held various ties to each other. This is especially true in the world of the Ford Mustang, which can be traced to more than one culinary selection. The latest comes to us straight from Ford Performance, which paired up the host of the YouTube show Hot Ones, Sean Evans, with pro drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. to experience a hot sauce inspired by the Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400.

The premise behind this entertaining clip is the idea that Ford Performance wanted to create a hot sauce intense enough to accurately capture the experience of riding in the insane Mustang Mach-E 1400, their 1,400 horsepower, tire-slaying beast of an EV. Obviously, they can’t take the whole world for a ride in this thing, so why not replicate that feeling for the masses in a more convenient and easy-to-digest form?

Thus, after a ride in the Mach-E with Gittin Jr. at the helm, the duo sits down to enjoy a plate of wings with some of the Mach-E 1400 hot sauce. Things start out normal enough, but then the heat quickly intensifies – much like strapping in and hitting the track in a 1,400 horsepower race car. “Pretty flavorful,” Gittin Jr. says. “Yeah, it kinda builds, you know,” adds Evans.

After a minute or two, that quickly changes. “This is not a walk in the park,” Evans says as the heat of the sauce begins to sink in. “It just keeps coming,” Gittin Jr. says. Regardless, the two just keep on eating until they can’t handle it anymore and give up by downing a glass of milk. It’s sort of like the Mach-E 1400 itself, as Evans notes when his ride is finished. “It’s like the most insane roller coaster ride ever,” he says. “I didn’t want it to end.”

Unfortunately, the Mach-E 1400 hot sauce was apparently deemed too hot for public consumption and won’t be hitting our local grocery store shelves. But it’s a nice car/culinary mashup that carries on the tradition of a couple of other Mustang-related food pairings, including Caroll Shelby‘s chili kit, which he whipped up in his spare time between creating the first Shelby GT350 and winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as Lee Iacocca‘s Olivio, an olive oil-based spread company he founded with his son-in-law.

These pairings may not make a ton of sense on the surface, but even hardcore Mustang guys have to eat sometime, no?
