Mach 1 Mustang '767 Edition' Will Make Any GT500 Sweat

Clive Sutton’s ‘767 Edition’ Mustang Mach 1 is more powerful than Shelby GT500 thanks to its supercharged powertrain.

Many might consider Mach 1 to be a parts-bin car, but Ford’s offering more than lives up to the legacy left behind by its predecessors. The 2021 Mustang Mach 1 has incredible tuning potential. Recently, London-based luxury car dealer- Clive Sutton– unveiled a very special edition of the Mustang Mach 1. The all-new offering is called 767 Edition Mustang Mach 1, and it has been tuned to produce more power than the GT500.

The 767 denotes the horsepower that is generated by Sutton Mustang’s re-tuned 5.0-liter V8 motor. This is a substantial bump in power considering that the maximum power output of a standard Mustang Mach 1 in its factory-spec is rated at 460 hp. To extract the 307 additional horses, the pony car’s Coyote powerplant was mated to a Stage 2 3-liter Whipple supercharger that flaunts an orange finish. The Sutton 767 Edition also gets an H-pipe exhaust system and a dual-pass charge cooler.

The Sutton Mustang’s supercharged engine now produces more power than Shelby GT500’s 5.2-liter Predator V8, which churns out 760 HP and 625 lb-ft of torque. What makes Sutton Mustang even more special is the fact that Ford only introduced the detuned version of the Mach 1 in the European market. A 2021 Mach 1 Sutton 767 Edition is currently listed for sale on Clive Sutton’s official website. The car gets a six-speed manual gearbox and is priced at around $110,000 (£79,950).

Mustang Mach 1’s MagneRide suspension setup compliments its track-focused chassis. Clive Sutton claims that the 767 Edition Mach 1 is faster than the Shelby GT 500 and also handles better than Ford’s flagship muscle car. Inside the cabin, The 767 Edition gets special ambient lighting and Recaro seats.

The sports car only has 101 miles on the odometer, and its bodywork flaunts a gorgeous Fighter Jet Grey paint job. The car rides on a set of 19-inch Ford Performance ‘birds nest’ rims that are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The 767 Edition also gets a Ford Performance Mach 1 kit which includes a racing spoiler, an aero front splitter, and a rear diffuser.
