Hennessey ‘H850’ package supercharges the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse for 70 percent more power!

The 2024 Mustang Dark Horse is already a hot ticket. The Coyote V8 churns out a robust 500 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque. It also has massive Brembo brakes, an upgraded suspension, and the list goes on and on. All this combines to make the Dark Horse the most track-focused 5.0L V8 Mustang ever made. That being the case, we predicted that two things were going to happen. One, is that greedy dealers will be asking for well over MSRP to buy one. Two, all this performance is still not enough for the folks at Hennessey Performance. We have already seen the dealer markups. And on July 18 Hennessey announced the ‘H850’ package that will ramp up the Dark Horse to 850 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Call us Nostradamus.

This turnkey ‘H850’ package includes a high-performance supercharger, upgraded fuel injectors, a new fuel pump, a high-flow air induction system, and a special tune. On the aerodynamic side you get a front splitter, side skirts, and a rear spoiler all made from carbon fiber. The package also includes a set of special forged aluminum alloy wheels. There is also exterior badging on the quarter panels and rear fascia. On the inside you will find the Hennessey script embroidered on the seats. A set of what Hennessey calls ‘Heritage’ graphics are optional. The package is backed by a comprehensive 3-year / 36,000-mile limited warranty.

From the Founder

John Hennessey is the founder and CEO of Hennessey Performance and he had this to say about the new ‘H850’ package. “Our supercharged Mustang builds have continually been customer favorites over the years, and Ford’s improved S650 platform will prove to be its most capable. Without question, our supercharged 850 horsepower Dark Horse model will be one of the most exciting and powerful muscle cars on the road — sure to turn heads with its distinctive supercharger wail and exhaust note.” Judging by the specifications and the couple of images that have been released, we fully agree with that statement.

Pricing & Ordering

Production of the ‘H850’ models is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2023. As of now no pricing has been announced. Considering the prices of previous Hennessey Mustang packages, we would suspect a fully built ‘H850’ car to ring in around the low $100K range. A lot of money for a Mustang to be sure. But for an 850 horsepower Dark Horse with a full warranty that looks this good, it could almost be considered a bargain. Assuming of course you can get your hands on a Dark Horse for anything close to MSRP. If you are interested in one of your own, you can start the process by contacting Hennessey directly. If you click HERE, you will be taken directly to their contact form. Get ready for the Mustang ride of your life.
