The 850 horsepower H850 Mustang Dark Horse can run the quarter in 10.9 seconds, over a full second quicker than stock.

Hennessey has revealed the performance data for their H850 Mustang Dark Horse, and the numbers are astounding. Nobody has accused the stock Ford Mustang Dark Horse of being slow. With 500 horsepower on tap it has enough grunt to satisfy anyone. But Hennessey is not about satisfying people. Hennessey is about blowing people’s minds. And thanks to a 70 percent power upgrade over stock, the 850 horsepower H850 Mustang Dark Horse will do just that. 0 to 60 mph happens in just 3.2 seconds, a half second improvement over stock. The quarter mile is dispatched in just 10.9 seconds at 133 mph, compared to the stock car taking 12 seconds at 118 mph.

Those are meaningful improvements. Many times, when a tuner amps up the horsepower, the car can’t really put the extra power down. So, while the horsepower number looks more impressive, the actual performance gains are modest. That is clearly not the case here as the H850 thumps the stock Dark Horse. “Our supercharged H850 Mustang Dark Horse builds on Ford’s commitment to provide automotive enthusiasts with passion products like the snarling V8-powered S650 Mustang. We’re excited to unleash Hennessey’s passion for performance on America’s most iconic muscle car with all the sights, sounds, smells, and sensations that get our blood pumping,” said John Hennessey, company Founder, and CEO.

Supercharged Coyote

How does the H850 get the extra performance? A large supercharger, that’s how. Sure, the supercharger on top of the Coyote 5.0L V8 is a big reason why the car makes 850 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. But if you know anything about Hennessey, you know they don’t just slap a supercharger on something and call it a day. The package also comes with upgraded fuel pump and injectors, high-flow air induction and an engine tune. Special interior and exterior badging complete the standard package. You also have the option of adding a forged performance wheel in gloss anthracite upgrade and a heritage graphics package. It is available on both manual and automatic transmission cars. And it all comes with a 3-year / 36,000-mile limited warranty. To inquire about your own click HERE.

Pricing and Competition

Dark Horse

There is no price listed for the package, so you will need to reach out to Hennessey for that. However, The Ford Mustang GTD is going to cost $350,000 and it is expected to have roughly the same or even less horsepower. The Hennessey will not be anywhere near $350,000. Of course, the GTD has a lot more than just a powerful engine, but the H850 will likely keep up with it, at least in a straight line for far less money.
