1993 Ford Mustang Foxbody SVT Cobra With Only 200 Original Miles

Gorgeous Foxbody SVT Cobra has only 200 original miles and has an incredibly heart-wrenching $75,000 price tag.

It’s always amazing to see what people have the hindsight to keep tucked away for future resale. We have seen several special edition Mustangs in the past that have sat for ages and are now selling for astonishing numbers. This is certainly no exception. This Foxbody rocks our world. Sadly, though, most of us could never afford to pay what they want for it.

In a recent article by Caleb Jacobs on The Drive, this teal 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra was brought to our attention. While a clean SVT Cobra Foxbody is challenging to find in its own right, this one takes it a step above. This car seems to have been purchased specifically to sit until its peak value. With the way Foxbodies have been skyrocketing, we’d say it’s a great time to sell. If you’re wondering what makes this particular one so unique, we’ll fill you in on all the details.

A rare gem of a Foxbody

In 1993, only 4,994 of these SVT Cobra examples came to fruition. While that number alone is enough to turn heads, it reduces even further with the color choice. According to Hotrod, only 1,355 wear this Metallic Teal color. That, though, isn’t the only reason for the top-level asking price.

A glance at the interior is the first giveaway. Not only is it factory fresh, it still has the factory fresh plastic seat covers. The steering wheel and shift knob look like bare hands have never touched them. Additionally, all the plastic work and the dash follow suit, looking like they just left the assembly line yesterday. Other than the styling choices, you’d be hard-pressed to believe this car was build nearly thirty years ago.

Under the hood rests a 235 horsepower 5.0-liter V8. While the power level isn’t astonishing by today’s standards, it’s still ten more than you get with a standard 1993 Mustang GT. With its 5.7 second zero to sixty time, it certainly is no slouch for its time. It also will run a quarter-mile in 14.5 seconds. Again, that figure isn’t mindblowing by today’s standards, but you have to get into the nineties mindset. Put on I’d Do Anything For Love by Meatloaf. That’ll set the mood.

While the engine is definitely worth getting excited about, its condition is the main selling point here. Just like the interior, it looks like it came off the showroom floor yesterday. Every bit of black plastic still shines in the light as it did all those years ago. Of course, it’s still practically brand new, with only 255 miles run through it. We imagine it hasn’t lost a whole lot of ponies in its slumber. Though, we do tend to agree with Jacobs in his article on The Drive.

“I can just about promise you this car has never been full-throttle for more than a few seconds, let alone 14.5, but I digress,” writes Jacobs.

Clean from front to back, inside and out

It’s no surprise, then, that the exterior follows suit. From the bodywork to the original wheels, this car is untouched. It even still has the original dealership window sticker in it, which is, in its own right, remarkable.

It’s always hard to side with leaving a car undriven. Though, if there weren’t people doing things like this, we wouldn’t have a beautiful time capsule of Mustang history like this one. Currently, it is listed for sale for a cool $75,000. While that number does seem a bit lofty, we wouldn’t be too surprised to see someone pay it. Hopefully, though, whoever ends up buying it really appreciates it. If you’re a prospective buyer, maybe consider taking it around the block a time or two. After all, there’s no reason to preserve it if people don’t get to appreciate it.
