Due to no 1:1 ratio, In what gear is everyone getting their Autos dyno'd 4th or 5th? 4th gear is 1.14:1 and 5th is .87:1.

 

4th gear is best but a tune will need to be downloaded so it can be held in 4th and not automatically downshift when they hammer it for the pull.

 

I just did mine in 3rd, as I don't have a tuner yet. Some of the tuning companies have said there's not that much difference in the readings between 3rd and 4th, especially if you're just comparing the effects of tuning or other changes, such as an exhaust change. You can still track before/after differences.

 

1.52:1 is the 3rd gear ratio, so that will numerically make the numbers much lower than 1:1 correct? I am no math whiz I'm not dyno racing anyway, just wanting to see how much the tune improves the car.
