Just curious as to how quick they are....

 

Car and Driver got a 15.3. And there's a guy on here somewhere whose dad took one to the track, and got a 15.3 and a couple of 15.2's.

Both cars were automatic V6's.

 

No other times? Anyone got into the 14's yet?

 

Not yet but took out a 5.0 yesterday until I hit 111 then he started to catch up, also took out a mits spyder., and kept up with a v8 camaro.

 

What year was the 5.0 and the Z28?

 

I've already beat an eclipse gt, and barely lost to an 04 mustang gt (5 speed). I dont even have 400 miles on my car yet. Im extremely impressed by the v6. It would kill my 5.0 fox body for sure, especially at high speeds.

 

Took out a Tiberon Gt today too, then at the next red light he rolled on me lil a lil wuss.

 

i find that hardto believe cause when my 91 5.0 convertible was stock it ran 14.5's all day long

 

I can believe it. I think it is pretty obvious that a 5-speed V-6 can get into the 14's, the only real question being how deep into the 14's it can get.

An automatic GT with the taller gears.....it does not take a vivid imagination to see one running the same kind of times or slower. This is even easier to imagine if it is not in a prime state of tune.

 

I got rid of my '88 GT the week after I got my '05 V6. My GT had the regular mods, headers, gears, exhaust, you know what the typical bolt ons and I know my new V6 would win after driving back to back.

Just some FYI.

 

What kills my times is the 1 legged traction action. 215 tires dont help very much either.

 

yesterday i went to a local track and ran a 15.05 @ 91.75 mph that was against a Dodge Ram 1500 w/ a hemi, he ran a 15.2 @ 88.5 mph

 

bone stock? manual or auto?

15.05 is very impressive. the 91mph seems awfully low though, at firebird i was trapping 91mph pullin 16.1 lol. (first time i went).

 

I'm loving these numbers!

 

The V-6 is nothing to be ashamed of. Those are very impressive numbers. The bang for the buck is excellent. I came reaaally close to getting a black on clack premium. Man, it was/is a nice looking car.

 

sorry about the late reply, my 6 has true dual exhaust with vortech mufflers, a GT's airbox cover, and a tornado(same as the turbonator) 15.05 was my fastest the Ram had me off the line, his reaction time was better but i beat him by about 2 seconds

 

and it's an auto, i wanted a stick but i jumped the gun because she was the first one sent to beaumont, texas

 

Cool, so you probably only pushin like what... 20hp over stock? unless the turbonator thing really does what it claims, then maybe 30-40. Still runnin the stock rear end and tire setup?
