Aftermarket tire help.
My gf purchased an 1999 anniversary edition pony convertible. Unfortunately it came with aftermarket tires & rims. The fronts are 245/45R17 & the rears are 285/40R17. Not only are they different sizes but they're also different brands, tread patterns & speed ratings, which I'm told is a big no no. These tires need to be replaced for state inspection so I have a good excuse to get all matching brand, model & speed rating tires for this car. I have a few questions regarding what these rims will allow for? Can I get away with substituting 255/45R17 for the 285/40R17 that are currently on the rear? Likewise would changing the fronts to a 275/40R17 from the current 245/45R17 be possible without changing the current rims? Also what psi should these tires be set at? Thank you in advance for your help.

Unfortunately I don't. I haven't been able to find any markings in plan view but I haven't taken any of the rims off of the car. They have the mustang emblem in the center & I've heard a couple of people refer to them as cobra rims but I don't know anything more than that.

Welcome!
I think This More Recent Thread Will Start You on Your Journey. Also Make You Aware of Lugnut Issues Using S-550 Wheels on S-197.
I'm Seeing 19x8.5 With 42.5 Backspacing.

I'm the OP of the thread referenced by @05stangkc . I own a 2013 GT CS. If it would help I can take some pictures of the rims mounted to give you an idea of how it looks; but as you know, the 2013 is a little different than yours.

As discussed in my thread, the pictures below have the "new" wheels mounted. I hope the images give you an idea of the offset.
Please note that the steering wheel was slightly turned to the left, affecting the image a little.
