2014 glass top premium V6. I was looking for a comfort car to replace the beater. My wife loves the power passenger seat and navigation. It's got its faults little chips and things but all in all it's clean. 305 HP V6. No burnouts yet. I'm still thinking of what I might want to do with it. Ford gave me an IOU on cleaning the underbody and engine bay. I told them if I were to buy it I wanted it clean in and out.
Congrats buddy! Talk to Nathan and I about the joys (woes) of taking care of and detailing a black car. FUN!
IOU for cleaning the inside/outside of car? What do you mean - they owe you a full detail? Yeah, if you think they'll do a good job, do it! For me, my standards are so high with detailing, that I worry they will swirl/mar the paint, then it will take me longer to deswirl it.

Burton is correct: Don't let 'em touch it! I had the dealers "Detail shop" apply a sealer to my paint and they made a royal mess out of it. It took me three days of hard work and patience to fix it.

I feel the same way.
Unless you are very comfortable with your dealership and have great previous experiences I would not let them touch it.
If they send your car out to another shop and you do not know anything about their reputation then play it safe imo.
With my car, I would rather it be a little dirty and spend a few hours quality time washing and detailing it than risk any collateral damage all for a free wash from a dealer.

Congrats on the new car!
You guys know what I did when I bought my Mustang right? I ordered it all new - and I tracked when it was coming from the factory (via truck) to the dealership. They were under STRICT orders NOT to touch the paint at all. They rolled it off the truck, they did a very quick/customize PDI (inspection), then turned it over to me. I peeled every inch of that plastic, etc. I have it on video too
So my car has been "touched" by me only, since day 1. Wow, that was almost 6 years ago. I can't believe it. You could say, Marilyn "was" a virgin to me
It's been a while since I have been on the site. Attached are the latest pictures. The 2005 4.0L celebrated its 12th birthday on 04 April, 2017 still runs well and still turns heads.
The 2007 GT I bought in November 2014 as a restoration project. It has turned out rather well. Added Flowmaster Exhaust last year. Next month it is going in for a bit of painting on the front hood and to correct a gouge over the right rear fender well. Once the paint job is done the restoration project is complete although I might opt out for anti-rust rotors depending on cash flow.
Added Kenwood Bluetooth Navigation stereo systems to both Stangs over the past year.

Ray, very awesome pics indeed.. However they belong in the 2005-2009 sub-forums.. Just saying
Nathan so cool! Explain the Kannonball run up there in Minneapolis?
also, couldn't they just have vinyled the windows? hehe... paint
Haha, I watched the whole time. The place that does it was super careful and did an awesome job. They do it all the time so I wasn't too worried.
But the Kannonball is over 300 miles with I think 8 checkpoints. They're raising money for a deaf and hard of hearing school here in the cities. It starts after Cars and Coffee in June. Gonna be a ton of fun! http://kannonballfun.com/
