I am just blown away by how good the back end of the Mustang looks now. It has a Jewel like appearance. I have to give the Ford stylists a alot of credit for taking a mundane rearend and turning it into the focal point of the car. The red ,white, blue, and yellow cars will standout with the black in the rearend.

I'm hoping we see a pre-painted part from someone (thinking AM) that covers the black surrounds. I agree it's the only think keeping the rear end from being perfect.
If someone came up with that, I'd have to look into it. Other than that, yes, I think the rear is striking.
My gripe is the glossy plastic tail light housing. anyone who owns a modern dashboard knows that plastic scratches if you even blink near it. I am debating having it wrapped in matte vinyl or waxing the heck out of it.
Paint it

All this talk about the 2013 rear end, with the high-gloss insert between the taillights, and the black piece behind the license plate, I'm not liking it. It makes me really appreciate the clean, non-busy look of the 2010-2012 rear end. Allows the color of the car to really shine through.
Some pictures from the Knoxville Auto Show!
My jaw dropped when I saw it in person, the changes are spot-on.
I love Kona Blue but Deep Impact Blue has me completely enamored now. It looks perfect with the new blackout panel/lights.
It's a lot darker than it looks!
Speaking of the blackout panel, I checked it for scuffs/scratches. There were maybe two, neither of which were terribly noticeable until you got reaaaallly, really close.
