MY COLOR RETROFIT INSTRUCTIONS {THE FIRST} MY COLOR 2005-2009 S-197 Gen 1

Wow thats alot of info to digest. I dont even want to hear what my dealer is going to say. When I picked up the side door sills the guy said he didnt even know you could order them and that he is going to a pair because his wife has an 05. Geez you would think they would be a little more briefed on this.

I am starting to get emails requesting the purchase of the IUP clusters from me. I do not believe due to Odometer Tampering Laws I can sell you a cluster via UPS. I believed this going in and that is why I worded the post so people could get it done locally without as much difficulty. But I will call FORD ZONE OFFICES and see if I can get a definite on this!
BE PATIENT it will take time!

I got a response to the UPS Cluster Question from FORD! NO! Sorry but you guys are on your own! I had a dealer call me today on the conversion and I walked him through it! If necessary I will do it for others!

Everyone seems to be getting stripes. If you don't mind that then get some stripes. This is how I look at it. You spend most of your time with the car INSIDE. So you can't lose by getting the interior exactly how you want it. I've always been more of an interior guy than an exterior guy.

[attachmentid=11729]This Installation was completed at the Dealership I am employed at Yesterday!
This is my personal car and everything appears to function correctly!
The parts needed are the info/setup buttons and an IUP cluster.
All wiring was present in my particular 2005 GT Auto Application.
The install will need to be performed by a dealership as the Information in the existing cluster will have to be downloaded and reloaded into the existing cluster.
It was a simple operation on my particular application. And no difficulties were encountered. WARNING RESULTS MAY VARY!
In order for you Dealer to get you a cluster you will need current mileage and your complete vehicle vin #. Mileage is programmed at cluster center.
There are different IUP clusters for v6 & v8 applications and also depending on your vehicle bulid date! If you attempt to use a v8 cluster in a v6 most likely your tach will not funtion correctly.
When your Dealer orders the cluster from their authorized cluster replacement center have them state that they are doing an Upgrade and verify they will accept the standard cluster as a core. The Core could get expensive!
I do not have exact pricing on this conversion but would estimate it at $450.00 to $600.00 installed depending on your dealers pricing and labor rate!
FYI

I do have one question though. The clusters listed on the web site say they have the tach, speedo, fuel, and temp guage. Are they oil and battery guages not included. I didn't think that was possible with the info center. Honestly the guages are what I want I could care less about the my color. The info center would be cool though.
They said they could do the conversion without a problem though which is cool. About a $100 for labor depending on time to install. Please let us know what you find out Kevin. As soon as we figure this out I will get it done.

I call my local Ford dealer in part department , they said it cost $375.00 to order my color and info. display, and $45.00 hr for labor to put in the Mustang. I think $210.00 is lot better them paying $375.00 I will order off the website now.

I called this morning and they told me the price was about the same. He said he couldn't remember exactly but he thought it went up to $220 or so. Also told me I should have the cluster by Friday.
Kevin I'm not sure if things are done differently in Texas but it appears as if these guys can ship the clusters. You might talk to your Zone offices again. Maybe the person you talked to didn't know what they were talking about, or alternativly these guys just didn't ask for permission to do what they are doing. Anyway it is a dealership (
BOB UTTER FORD LINCOLN MERCURY in Sherman, TX).
I didn't see the info buttons listed on their site, but I already bought mine from Kevin. So I should have everything to get it done by Friday. I'll post my results as soon as I get it back from the dealer.
Man I already miss my car. I had to leave it with the dealer at 4pm yesterday so I couldn't rack up any more miles till the cluster gets here.
