2005-2009 S-197 Instrument cluster lighting problem Solution Replace Blown Fuse
Hi all, I'm having a problem with my 2006 GT. Last weekend, my wife changed the color of my gauges to a lovely shade of pink. So... the other day I went back to my standard blue. Everything seemed to be fine.
The next morning on the way to work, I turned on my headlights and the lights on my gauge cluster went from the standard white when the lights are off to no lights at all. The LCD lights on my CD player also went out.
I'm pretty sure that I just blew a fuse. The only problem is getting to the **** interior fuse box. I'm not sure which Ford engineer decided to make it impossible to get open without removing the entire passenger kick panel, but I'd like to buy him a beer. Engineering at its best.
So I guess what I'm asking is: How the hell do I get into the freakin' interior fuse box?
I never imagined Ford could make it this hard to check a fuse.

Nevermind guys, I finally got to it. Just had to pop off the passenger scuff plate and kick panel. Luckily for Ford they are now using some nice, sturdy metal clips on their interior parts instead of the usual plastic. They have redeemed themselves.
