I was 17 when I got my first Mustang. It was a 67 California Special Convertible. My father bought it from a friend at work. Her 16 year old son crashed the car while racing. When she threatened to sell the car, her son said she couldn't sell his car. He said he had just bought new tires for it with his own money. She sold it to my father for the price of the tires.
I kept the car for years and tried to fix it myself. Every time I thought it would run something else broke. I think the bad karma of how I got my hands on it followed that car. My wife at the time made me sell it when my son was born. She said we couldn't afford a money pit.

I was 23 - back in 1991 - and she was an '88 GT hatchback with a T5. Loved that car. Took my best friend for a ride the next week, and a month later he showed up in a leftover '90 GT convertible. Funny how often that happens...
Since then I've had a '66 coupe ( still have it ), an '85 GT ( since sold - donor car for the drivetrain in the '66 ), an '87 GT convertible ( sold ), a '66 GT coupe ( awesome rust free San Jose car loaded with options - just sold it 2 weeks ago ), a '90 LX 5.0 ( sold ), and a '94 Cobra with a 347 stroker ( still have it, but will be for sale very soon ). I'm addicted to Mustangs and attend monthly support group meetings :-)
