Nice Fastback Shaney! It's been a LONG time since I've seen a Mustang with a CB antenna!

Thanks!

Me too! So long ago that I forgot I even had one in there.

But back in those days if you did not have one, you could not find out where the fun was. Way before cellphones.

True, My first car had one factory installed...it was a '79 Cadillac Seville Diesel...I hated that car. Hand me down on it's 4th engine(GM's crap idea of an engine). Today I would LS swap it with a supercharger....but back then it wasn't me, it sucked. Not at all what you wanted to be seen in. After I wrecked it twice in 3 weeks being stupid I sold it and bought the '68 Coupe I shared above.

I remember probably back in 1988ish I spotted a red 67 Fastback behind a single wide tailer on the way to Ocean City, MD on Rt. 50....it was an S code GTA and in pieces but looked like someone had tried to paint it which was why it was apart. I stopped and they wanted $3500 for it which I thought was ridiculous at the time....now look at them...LOL. I mean I had paid $2800 for my coupe with nice paint running and driving, the idea of paying that much for a project that wasn't running was crazy.

Yup, I had one of those crap engines too! I was in a 1980 GMC Sierra 1/2 ton Diesel pickup that we bought in 1984 for around $2800. It was a plain old white regular cab work truck. Not sure the extended cabs were a regular thing back then. Bought it for what I felt was cheap for a 4 year old low mileage truck, with the idea of swapping to a gas. Drove it for a short time until the motor started giving us trouble.

By then we had found a 1974 Olds Ninety-Eight 2 door coupe with a low mileage and great running 455 and transmission, a huge Land Yacht as a donor car. Very plush and loaded car, but ugly, was green and off white vinyl top. Kind of like the one below, but in a 2 door. So you know I had to drive it for about 4 - 6 months to vet it. Did not want to swap and then have a failure. Definitely not something a 20 something wanted to be seen in, but I did it any way. I had two young kids (6 & 4) and they were embarrassed to be seen in it too. Father-in-law and I did some parts updates on the engine, course he did most of the work. Then we did the swap of engine & tranny.

Truck ran very well with the under powered huge mid-70s engine. Wife hated that Truck, seem like something broke (Hose, Alternator, Battery, Starter, etc) every time she drove it. It treated me pretty well though. Think I sold it in 1990 for more than I had into it. Worked out well for the times.

One huge ugly beast. Bought it for around $400

That's definitely not something you'd want to drive when young but now I'd drive the wheels off of it...lower it with some detroit steel wheels, nice sounding exhaust and just ride...lol.

I was 39 or 40, depending on what month I bought my '89 LX 5.0. Great car. Terrible dealer service department but changed ownership at least 3 times since then.

Until then, we only had one car that worked with a child seat. When we enrolled our son in a day care near my work, Susan didn't like me contemplating best way to bungie him to the FZR1000 I commuted on. A Mustang seemed the most fun option.

I was 17. Bought a used 1974 Mustang II Mach 1 with a first year edition V-6, 3 door hatchback. I think it had about 35K miles on it. Engine was a piece of s**t that had very little gittieup and sounded like a sewing machine! I don't remember exact cause but the engine blew after I had owned the car for 6 months. Had a local Ford dealer rebuild the engine - it caught on fire the first day after the rebuild was done.... HA! The dealer made warranty repairs and I sold the car as soon as I could. I met the buyer the day after he had bought the car to have the title notorized. I'll never forget him saying the engine blew up the day he bought the car and it was currently at an engine replacement shop! Oh well....lesson learned!

It was 32 years ago at age 33... Unfortunately, I no longer have pics of my previous Mustangs from that era.

51, and quite literally by accident. 3 years ago, I had just wrecked my 2014 F150 and needed a car… my nephew was about to donate his 2006 V6 Mustang that he had owned for 13 years. It’s still a work-in-progress, but it keeps me out of trouble…
