I am dying for a Doberman! That is my dream dog. Eddie is more like a cat who barks.
My realtor has two trained German Shepherds. You walk by her house if she isn't home you would think they were going to eat you. When she is out with them, they are like little kittens.

Retrievers are great dogs!
We had a pure bred golden retriever... he was amazing!
It was a sad day when he ran away during july 4th
He hated fireworks... now I hate them also

Sorry to here that. But I desensitized Bandit to all kind of things including fireworks. We played with him and fireworks today, he really seems to like them.

yea, we learned from our experiences...
We desensitized Dora to fireworks, getting her ears and mouth examined, etc. early on. She was really calm during july 4th.

Sorry No Picture but you know what it would look like !
Talking Dog For Sale
A guy is driving around Tennessee and he sees a sign in front of house:
"Talking Dog For Sale."
He rings the bell and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard.
The guy goes into the backyard and sees a Labrador retriever sitting
there.
"You talk?" he asks.
"Yep," the Lab replies.
"So, what's your story?"
The Lab looks up and says, "Well, I discovered that I could talk
when I was pretty young. I wanted to help the government, so I told
the CIA about my gift, and in no time at all they had me jetting from
country to country, sitting in rooms with spies and world leaders,
because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping.
I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running."
"But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't
getting any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a
job at the airport to do some undercover security wandering near
suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible
dealings and was awarded a batch of medals."
"I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired."
The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he
wants for the dog.
"Ten dollars," the guy says.
"Ten dollars? This dog is amazing. Why on earth are you selling
him so cheap?"
"Because he's a liar. He never did any of that s**t."

Congrats on the new Puppy.
Well about that Retriever thing, our dog is half Retriever
and she could be the Poster Dog for being a "dog-tard."
Unless we got a defective one.

Eddie is a country dog now. He even has a Terrier girlfriend. Our Friend took him in because he wouldn't stop peeing on everything in the house.
Bonus- I can travel freely now, without seeking a dogsitter- the cat is low maintenance.
For Dogs, I will love my Parents Rat Terrier even more now.

Well, she actually spastic and mental, combined.
(Maybe the worse traits of both breeds.)
Perfect example of her is today, during our lil Mid-Atlantic tropical weather event,
she decides she just has to go out in the rain.
Runs out the door, discovers it's raining and just stands there looking up for over a minute. Never even makes a move to get under the tree, right beside her.
After watching this, I have to call her back inside or else she would
probably still be standing there.
