I can guarantee you that its not even in the same ball park with the M-80s we used to get back in the day. They were serious ****. I'd say 20 of those you're talking about combined wouldn't be like what we used to get. Its a miracle that I've still got a hand to touch myself with.

 

Those dang silver salutes. I believe they were 1/4 sticks. Even we respected those dang things and we were fearless. The cherry bombs were lots of fun too.

 

The cherry bombs and M-80s back in the day were badasses. They deserved respect. Hell, they'd blow the side out of a 55 gal oil drum if the top was sealed up.

Ooops, just got it after counting the *. Yes, I remember those. My friend didn't think they were too funny though. Don't think that would go over too well nowadays.

 

I remember those. They made us East Texas crackers run and laugh like maniacs. What was the real name? Whistling something?

I really miss the semi-annual bottle rocket wars. Best one was in college where we each had a gross of rockets at a buddy's duck hunting camp. We took the barrels off our shotguns and fired the rockets through them. That was back in the long haired hippy days and the exhaust from a rocket ignited my bro-in-law's hair. Older and wiser now, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. But would wear safety goggles this time

 

Gotta love fireworks in Texas! Had some good ones here too!
