Last thing y'all probably wanted to hear, but I took some more pictures around the yard today. 
The roses I posted the other day that were budding finally popped out...
Figured I better get some pics of these before all the flowers drop off..
My rabbit keeping watch, I told him if I caught him munching on the plants I was going to move his **** to the bamboo patch.

My hitching post so Charlie can tie his horse up. 
Hard to tell in the pic, but hes got a ring in his mouth. Thought about repainting him, but I think I like the patina better for the time being. Weird, he looks like hes leaning in the pic, but hes not. 
Some of the trees I missed the other day...
And here is what I was talking about with the bamboo taking over quickly if you don't keep it cut this time of year. These shoots have come up since Tuesday when I took those other pics..
If you look closely, you can see they're popping out everywhere...
20oz water bottle out there for reference...
And here is how those would look in a week. I cut these last Thursday, and they've gotten this big already. Tough as hell too, sound like you've hit a tree stump when the mower blade hits them.
.I'll give y'all a break for a while, at least until something new starts happening.

Good luck with that. When I first got a couple of horses I bought some hobbles and wanted to get them used to them for out on the trail. So I tied the rope to the hobbles and the other end to a heavy log that was about a foot diameter X 4'.
As soon as one felt the tug, then saw this thing following his every move, he freaked out and took off running - well hopping - full speed through the woods! With this "monster" chasing him all the way! Faster he'd hop, the faster the monster ran after him!!
What a train wreck! 
So now I stick to tying them to big ol live Ponderosa's.
