..... A Mercury is a good car and that's what I was driving that day. I've owned a lot of cars. Different kinds. Lots of different kinds of cars. She was standing, this girl, on the side of the street where there was a chicken stand; not the Colonel, mind you, but nevertheless a chicken stand, and I pulled the Mercury over and rolled down the window by electric power. She was wearing a leather skirt and she had a lot of hair on her arms. I like that. I like it a lot. It means a big bush. I like a big bush. She said, "Are you dating?" I said, "yes," and she got in the car. We pulled to a remote location, one that she and I both felt comfortable with and she said, "How much can you spend?" I said, "What it takes to see your bush. I know it's a big one." She said "twenty five dollars," which to a working man is not chicken feed. I produced the money and she put it in her shoe and pulled up her skirt. There before me lay a thin, crooked, uncircumcised *****. You can imagine how badly I wanted my twenty-five dollars back.

Most Southerners are not of British colonist heritage. Many were "acquired" by the US through the purchase of former French territories. Many more are of German heritage. I've heard of the term "shepherd's pie" but couldn't tell you what it actually is, but I've been eating Creole cuisine since I was old enough to eat solid food.
Shepherds pie is awesome! There are different variations, depending on your taste. The way I like it is a basic type. You fry up some hamburg, add whatever seasonings you like, then put it in a casserole dish or 9x9 type Pyrex. Then add a second layer of corn. Some people use creamed corn. Again, depends on what you prefer. Then you make some mashed potatoes and put them on as a top later. Leave as layers, don't mix! Then you put some butter on top to help brown the mashed, and put it in the oven. Once the top is lightly browned, maybe 30-45 minutes, it's ready! Spoon it into a plate or bowl, and yum! I like adding beef grave when serving. Makes it sooo much better!

This is what mine looks like...

You Yankees will eat anything. Looks like you just threw everything in your TV dinner into one bowl. It's just plain depressing. So glad I live where people cook real food.

Don't knock it till you try it! It is a delicious meal. Now let's talk about the Mexican food y'all eat and brag about down there. Isn't all that food mixed together and rolled up in a flat piece of bread? Hello kettle! **** southerners!

Lol. I like Mexican food but it's an occasional thing. Take a trip down to New Orleans and find out what food is all about. I've had shepards pie before and honestly it's just depressing. At the end of the day it's just mashed potatoes with some other what not mixed in it. A side dish at most. I can make a pot of beans much more exciting than that stuff. Food down here is damm near a sin.

Been there done that and yes the food is good. I'm not saying that the food isn't good in the south. Hell I love food period. But shepherds pie ain't boring or depressing and beats a pot of beans any day.

I would to go head to head with my pot of beans and your shepherds pie. But I get it. It's comfort food that tastes like home. It keeps bringing you back. We got a lot of that here.

It's a dish brought to you by the land where we boil everything to the point of having no flavor and top it with Potatoes. Welcome to Irish cooking 101 haha.

Too much Mashed Potato, too much corn, not enough carrots and peas mixed in with the beef though. Still looks good! Done right, Shepard's Pie can be a hell of a lot better tasting then Crocodile. Although nothing beats the spread you would get on Sunday in an Italian household. Especially when part of you family was from Lousiana and would mix some Cajun spices in with the Italian cooking.
