"Yankees" is a term referring to former British colonists in the northeast of the US. To a Southerner the term "yankee" is an insult. The US Civil War was fought between the South and the Yankees.
Most Southerners are not of British colonist heritage. Many were "acquired" by the US through the purchase of former French territories. Many more are of German heritage. I've heard of the term "shepherd's pie" but couldn't tell you what it actually is, but I've been eating Creole cuisine since I was old enough to eat solid food.

That's ok, those **** southerners are still mad about losing the Civil War apparently. I mean, we don't get too upset that the majority of loyalists hailed from the Mid-Atlantic and the south meanwhile the Patriots and the cause for Independence started in the North and New England. So the term Yankee is a **** good name to be called and a symbol of pride of not only of being from the North, but also of being an American.

We are not all hillbillies. Sea level defines us I believe. Get up past Bama and they are hillbillies. Bama to Mississippi I believe are just hicks. Louisiana we are Coonasses and Degos(Italians). Then of course there's Texans. But I do believe we all share the word "y'all". Eh!

No truer words have ever been written.

Not these days it isn't. Besides, there's no such thing as "northern" pride. If there was, the north--yankeeville--wouldn't be in the political and economic ****ter like it is.

That is like saying there is no such thing as white pride. It is also like saying there is no such thing as Southern pride since 8 out of the 10 states with the highest poverty rates hail from the south, meanwhile 6 out of the 10 historically Northern states - and 8 out of 10 states 9 if you want to count Commiefornia -have the lowest poverty rates. I'm proud of the heritage and the history that comes from the North. I have the ability to point to my regions history and say they tried to make a stand against injustice. That they created a provision where they could mock Southern law makers by saying that the chairs in Congress should also count towards their population. I'm proud of the North and the history and legacy that this region has in the shaping of this great nation.

From what I was able to see, that was a very good question and if I had the answer to that question, I would be running for Congress or President instead of the two that we have running right now. We can look at politics for that I think and how we really aren't better off about 7 years later. If we continue on in the economic growth that we are in, President Obama will rank in the top 5 worst economic records in US history. I think right now, that is a huge reason as to why the country economically isn't as robust as it once was.
Do you hate me in particular or Northerners? If you hate me, that's cool, I don't mind, but you will have to get in line though. If you hate Northerners, why? I don;t know, I have never really gotten any of this regional rivalry among Americans and never really realized it in all honesty outside of a couple of people who seem to be serious about it. Me, I don't really care, I was having a good time joking around up until a point.
Actually, I am extremely serious. We have a rich history in the Northeast that I am proud of. I have 2 of Washingtons' headquarters for the Battle of White Plains within a 5 mile radius of where I live. I can go dig on Battle Hill and find musket *****. I can go to West Point and see the great chain. I have all of this rich American History around me, why wouldn't I be proud? Are you not a proud American where you wouldn't feel some sort of pride in these things? Where you can go up to Saratoga or Fort Ticonderoga and picture Benedict Arnold capturing the Fort or imagining being part of the Knox Expedition pulling artillery in the winter through mountains and snow all the way to Dorchester Heights in order to lay siege to Boston to drive them out. You can go to Dorchester Heights and look over where artillery shelled Boston. This is just a sliver of the history of the North East and you're **** straight I'm proud of it.
Also, there is someone offering Asian escorts in London on the site called zoeylucasweb. Just thought I would point this out.

Might want to check your facts there, eeyore.
The greatest number of available Jobs with average to above-average compensation, both degreed and otherwise, reside almost entirely in the South. Why? They're right-to-work states. What has the north given us? A socialist approach to healthcare that costs more than the previous iteration, has forced the closure of tens of thousands of jobs as a result (and I don't blame the industries one single bit for it because they're in business to make money, not pay extortionist rates for healthcare for employees that doesn't cover what the previous policies did), and unions--which are the single most destructive force on the nation's economy. Northern pride summed up in one sentence: "yay, I get to make **** on an assembly line for as long as my quota isn't met and then go home and collect money for sitting on my ***, have absolutely no ambition whatsoever because my seniority determined my position within a company, pay my union rep money so he can set up strikes and protests that will cost me wages and never think about changing jobs no matter how ****ing much I hate my current one because I go right back down the ladder of seniority. Woohoo!"
You do realize most car manufacturers are moving their production facilities to Southern states because they don't have to deal with union bull****, right? Cities by and large are safer in the South. They're more prosperous. Detroit and Cleveland are just the worst examples of cities dying in the north--they are certainly not the only ones.
I don't hate the northerners. I pity them.
