Got ticket for no front plate, need part number!!

I parked my car on the street in Manhattan and lo and behold by the time I got back there was a ticket on the windshield. I thought that was odd because I fed the meter... Well, it's a $65 ticket for having no front plate, no other crime committed!
I loathe front plates but I guess I should be lucky for getting away with it for so long. How could anyone ruin this gorgeous front end with an ugly *** yellow license plate! (I'm in New York state.)
In any case, I decided to stop being a rebel and just mount the **** plate. However, because I purchased my car in a no-front-plate state, there is no mounting frame. I see two tiny hold drilled on the front bumper but that's all.

Can anyone help me out with the proper part number?
It's a 2012 V6 with pony package...

You can look at craigs custom brackets. Its a mount that requires no drilling or modification to the car

Ditto! I had one for my 2007 and one now for my 2010. No drilling, great design.

Thanks, craigs custom brackets looks like the way to go!
Judging by the images, I have to ask, don't they rattle or vibrate?

I don't know if it would work in your 2012 lower grill, but here is how I solved the problem without having that ugly thing on the bumper. The entire state name and plate number are visible, so I will never get any flack. The upper and lower edges are double folded and the plate is held on with bolts and nuts, so it isn't going anywhere.

They can give a fixit ticket for a parked car? I'd be going to court to see the judge on that one... Then again, you are in 'that' state.

With a firm tightening of the wingnuts, and placement of the rubber damping point on the bumper, there is no rattle or vibration, at least up to highway speeds up to 85-90 mph.

My 00 had many front plates tickets in Texas and Alaska. Most were cowardly tickets when the car was parked.

Do the math:
Pretty car=dollar signs=more donuts

That one will work on any car, you just have to figure out how to get it mounted.

Note: Not compatible with the CS/Boss Front Fascia with Splitter or Roush Body Kit.

Before you do anything research the law. If it simply says there needs to be a forward facing plate like it does here in Minnesota, get some temporay clips and attach it to the passenger side sun visor. Put the visor down when driving or parked on public roadways and you have a forward facing plate. The alternative is toss the plate on the dash while you're driving. It may not technically be what MN statue intended but it's how it reads and is defensable.

That might scratch the dash. I think we should make the passenger hold it up or out the window.

In Texas, they've had the front plate requirement for years- but until recently there was no fine attached (due to a loophole). The loophole was closed this year, and now its a $200 fine.

That said, I have the front plate and mount in my trunk and haven't had a problem yet (knock on wood). The law in Texas says it has to be mounted to the "front-most surface of the car" (i.e., you can't put it on the dash or visor).

I'm going to order the manual lever (however, I plan to install the Roush spoiler, so I'll probably wait till that's installed and then figure out how to make it work.

Our plates here in MN are made out of genuine plastic and it's doubtful they would scratch the dash. Just the same I like your idea!
