Here is more on the hood. Fiberglass parts are never perfect out of the box and when dealing with parts that have had molds made from imperfect originals and then years of mold use you end up needing to do a LOT of work to get the parts straight.
The first step was to block sand the hood to find out where the problem areas were....there were a lot. We then marked the hood in those areas where they were high and low. If you just painted this hood it would look terrible...especially on a dark color.

Then after HOURS of work to get the hood straight we are ready for the first prime....
Keep in mind this was one of the best hoods you could buy and STILL needed this much work so you can imagine what you would end up with by buying the cheapest hood available

Now here we have our first prime applied and then we used some blue basecoat to apply a guide coat so that we can proceed with another block and sand session.....all this work goes to make sure you end up with a perfectly straight finished product.

what i mean is the fins having no support and waving in the wind, keep in mind i have not had a hood like this but have seen many of the qualities offered out there.
i realize that they are designed for the wind to blow over them and draw heat out of the engine bay.

what did you use to cut out the fiberglass in the nostrils..I have a similar hood and want to cut them out...woud you even recamend I do it on a hood that is already painted?

We used an air tool with a carbide bit(metal bit but it works fine on fiberglass). A hand file was also used. I would not recommend doing it on a hood that is already painted unless you are prepared to repaint the hood.

Alright....time for some new parts.....
The first shipment of parts came in from Griggs Racing....we have front upper control arms, Mini-tower mounting bracket set, front anti roll bar, Watts link kit, subframe connectors & rear upper coilover mount.
