Carb problem

I have a 71 fastback with a 351c. The previous owner had put a cam in it and I dont know what kind but it hits a pretty good lick. Its got a 600cfm edelbrock with manual choke. I wouldnt think that a 600 would be to big but every now and then it trys to flood itself to death. I just rebuilt the carb and put factory size metering jets, metering rods, and new floats but it still wants to flood sometimes. Anybody got any kind of tip for me would be most helpfull

You might want to check and clean the needle and seats above the floats. An intermittent flooding problem can be caused by the needle not sitting in the seat properly.
