shifter

i've had this shifter in every stang i've had (65,67, 70, and now my 73) and its weak, thin, i just need something that will fit the console and look good and be stronger than this one. Just asking for suggestions

Someone asked here once before about a "different" shifter, and Ford (along w/ Mopar for sure & possibly GM) made a "horseshoe" shifter which was kilda like it sounds, the "button" was under the top sorta like a luggage release handle. I don't think you will find one aftermarket - probably eBay. Get a Ford one (and the surrounding console, if possible) and it should like right up.

Yeah thats the answer i was looking for the console for the ltd and galaxie was the same size as the mustang one. Fitting that shifter should work. I found a few that will work perfect... thanks
