Looking For Mustang--Real Long Shot

Folks,
I'm looking for a Mustang that was my car (1976-1978) in HS while I lived in North Georgia, summer 1978 timeframe I sold it. I don't have the vin but here are some descriptors below. Tried to get the vin from the state of GA but records didn't go back that far.

66 Ford Mustang GT coupe, V8, chrome open air cleaner, cream yellow color with black stripes along bottom of door valance, black pony interior/black carpet with rubber Ford Mustang mats, Ford underdash AC, power brakes, power steering, emergency flashers switch in glovebox, auto with full console, remote mirrors driver door, trumpet GT exhaust ends, original rear speaker in back tray deck with tunnel box under tray with switch under dash, seat belt lite, wood (plastic) rimmed steering wheel, front fog lights in grille but not same fog lights for each.

Car would have needed some body repair work in trunk--rust. My Mustang had around 100,000 miles on it I think when I sold it in 1978 to William Roberts (Used Car Dealer) in Athens GA who then sold it to a minister in SC that worked on Mustangs.

If you think you might have seen this car or know of it please post or email me at ugabulldog83@yahoo.com. Thanks--Mike Thomas

I hate to tell you this....but whatever that car looked like in the 70's...it probably don't look like that anymore....Your best bet would be to call the people you sold it to...and follow the chain of different owners and see if they can remember who they sold it to. Best of luck man!

it would indeed be a longshot to find that car .. i have often wonderd what became of my 428 mustang i had in the mid 70`s.. the fellow i sold it to ( 750 $ ) took the scj 428 motor and 4 speed trans out and put in a straight 6 and an automatic .. i wound up with the motor and trans later but did not keep them .. the car was metalic blue and in perfect condition and after it was sold to a guy in huntsville i lost track of it .. unless it got later wrecked and totaled it should`nt have been destroyed .. so if you ever knew who had a blue r code 6 banger mach one ????
